Soil: Rocky, gravelly loam, 30-60% grade

Pruning, Trellis and Orientation: Cordon on VSP, Northeast-Southwest

Certified CCOF Organic Vineyard

The Garvey Home Ranch is an organically farmed vineyard situated on the Rutherford Bench at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain range. The Hillside Block is low-yielding and produces loose clusters with small berries. The wine from this parcel is classic Rutherford: rich and concentrated with intense black currant flavors.

Konrad Vineyard

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Clone 377 on 1103 Paulson rootstock

Soil: Bressa-Dibble complex, 10-30% grade

Pruning, Trellis and Orientation: Cordon on VSP, Northeast-Southwest

2014 will be our first vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Dr. Konrad Vineyard. This 1/2 acre parcel is situated high on Mount Veeder at 1170 feet above sea level. Mount Veeder is the largest AVA within Napa Valley, but its rugged nature has limited production to just 1.3% of Napa Valley grapes. Due to the scarcity of plantable sites only about 1,000 acres out of 25 square miles are planted to grapes. Yields from the mountain vineyards are exceptionally low (usually about 2 tons/acre for Cabernet Sauvignon) – about half the Napa Valley average.

Muscatine Vineyard

Appellation: Soda Canyon

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Clone 377 on 1103 Paulson rootstock

Soil: Aiken Loam, 10-30% grade

Pruning, Trellis and Orientation: Cane on VSP, North-South

The Muscatine Vineyard is a 1/2 acre parcel tucked away in the rugged Soda Canyon at about 800 feet above sea level. Expertly farmed by Tom Muscatine using sustainable practices, we harvest about 1/2 ton of Cabernet Sauvignon from this  vineyard.  While the Muscatine Cabernet only comprises about 12% of our production, it has a big impact on our wines providing a solid core of concentrated black currant flavors with structured tannins.

Mee Lane Vineyard

Appellation: Rutherford

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, See Clone on 039-16 rootstock

Soil: Pleasanton loam

Pruning, Trellis and Orientation: Cane on VSP, Northwest-Southeast

Certified CCOF Organic Vineyard

Planted to the See Clone in 2000 and organically farmed by Mark Neal, the Rutherford Dust Vineyard on Mee Lane creates the classic expression of Cabernet Sauvignon grown in these deep mid-valley soils.   The wines from this vineyard have huge aging potential and show black cherry and cassis flavors encased in very firm tannins.

Bagnato Family Vineyard

Appellation: Rutherford

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon,Clone 337 on 3309C rootstock

Soil: Pleasanton loam

Pruning, Trellis and Orientation: Cordon on VSP, Northwest-Southeast

The Bagnato Family Vineyard is only 0.2 acres and is meticulously farmed by hand. We harvested less than 1/2 ton of this classically styled Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon in 2015.  The fruit shows wild berry and spicy bramble characteristics that will add a lot of dimension to our 2015 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon.

Maxine’s Vineyard

Appellation: Yountville

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon,Clone 337 on 101-14 rootstock

Soil: Clear Lake clay, drained

Pruning, Trellis and Orientation: Cordon on VSP, East-West

In 2016 we harvested just over one ton from this tiny vineyard that is expertly farmed by Ernie Elsley.  Situated in the center of the Yountville appellation, this site produces deeply colored Cabernet with focused black currant flavors edged with anise and lavender.  Only three barrels of this elegant and seductive wine were produced.

Spring Mountain Block

Appellation: Spring Mountain

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Clones 337 and See Clone; Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot on 1103 Paulson rootstock

Soil: Boomer gravelly loam

Pruning, Trellis and Orientation: Cordon on VSP, North-South

2017 will be our first vintage from this site high on Spring Mountain ranging from 870 to 975 feet in elevation.
